Do Something Awards from VH1 (in coordination with DoSomething.org) lets fans nominate their favorite celebrities who do great work in the area of community service and who inspire young people to do the same.
VH1 has opened the nomination voting where you can choose which celebrities and pop culture icons are nominated in a variety of categories. Both Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth are listed as potential nominees in the Movie Star: Male category, and The Hunger Games is in the Film category.
- Josh Hutcherson: Is the youngest recipient of the Vanguard Award at the GLAAD Media Awards for his work with the group Straight But Not Narrow.
- Liam Hemsworth: Served as an ambassador of the Australian Childhood Foundation, a charity that works to put a stop to child abuse.
- The Hunger Games: Tackled issues like severe poverty, starvation, and effects of war through the story of children struggling to feed their under-fed communities.
Visit VH1 to vote for who you think should be nominated. Final voting opens in July. The 2012 Do Something Awards will take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 19th and air on Tuesday, August 21st, 2012 at 9:00 PM ET on VH1.
