Hunger Games 2 Catching Fire Has a Release Date Already!

The 2nd book of the Hunger Games trilogy, Catching Fire, by Suzanne Collins will soon be adapted to the silver screen on November 23, 2013.

Here are some excerpts from the MTV.

Lionsgate announced the release date for the second installment in the "Hunger Games" film series Monday (August 8), following two new stills from the first flick hitting the Web. "The Hunger Games" is still in production and is slated for a March 23, 2012, release. "Catching Fire" is the only movie slotted for the prime 2013 Thanksgiving weekend spot.

No word yet on whether "Catching Fire" will maintain Gary Ross as director or whether it will follow "The Twilight Saga" and "Harry Potter" trend of getting new directors for its four installments. But, considering "The Hunger Games" is close to wrapping, the timing of the announcement leads us to assume that Lionsgate is attempting to maintain some continuity from the first movie to the second.

Know The Tributes of the 74th Annual Hunger Games

The Capitol of the nation Panem holds its annual Hunger Games.  The game, which according to Capitol reminds the people about the devastating impact of rebellion against the government like what happened to District 13, which has been erased from the Panem map. The Hunger Games will pick two tributes (a boy and a girl) for the 12 districts of the nation, which is selected in the event called "The Reaping." During the reaping, boys and girls, ages 12 to 18, will dress at their best even if there lives are at stake. Their names will be put in a bowl and the escort will pick two names out of the hundreds of teenagers from each district. All young adults in the 12 districts can earn their food ration called tessera during the reaping, the more tessera needed, the more the entries you have for the Hunger Games. Katniss and Gale both have lots of entries for the Hunger Games for the food of their family.

Here are the 24 tributes of the 74th Hunger Games. May the odds be ever in their favor.

Fox Face Says that The Hunger Games Movie is Very True to the Book

Hey guyz, we really have nothing to worry about because the screenplay for the highly anticipated movie "The Hunger Games" is very true to the book. Here is District 5's Fox Face, I mean Jacqueline Emerson has to say about it:

"It is very true to the book," Emerson recently told me. "I was actually a huge fan of the books beforehand. I had to read it over the summer for school...We even did a day of Hunger Games at my school just a week before I got cast and my district won the games that we played!"

See? I'm sure the people from Lions Gate will make us happy because if not, they will not earn money! LOL! Here is what Fox Face has to say about filming the action-packed film:

"I didn't get hurt. Nobody got hurt," she said. "You'd think someone would have, but it was so safe."

Hunger Games Illustrated Movie Companion, Tribute Guide and Tie-in Movie Edition Covers!

Okay, so there' still about three months before we get to see The Hunger Games in the silver screen, however, the team behind the film has provided sneak peeks for yet another 3 books about the story. It is not a prequel nor a sequel but books focusing on the first Hunger Games movie. 

The Hunger Games: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion, The Hunger Games: Tribute Guide, and The Hunger Games Movie-Tie In Edition will be released on February 7, 2012. These three upcoming books are to be published by Scholastic, which if you don't know is the sole publisher of the Hunger Games novels. You might want to book ahead to secure copies! The Official Illustrated Movie Companion will be about the casting, screenwriting, behind-the-scenes, costumes, and a lot of great stuff from the making of the first Hunger Games movie. The book will also feature the journey of our favorite Jennifer Lawrence as the ass-kicking mockingjay Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, the boy with the bread, and of course Liam Hemsworth as the tall, dark and handsome hunter Gale Hawthorne. Plus, it will also have a room for the District 12 community, the place where these three characters live. I wonder what the coal mining district looks like? Meanwhile, "The Hunger Games: Tribute Guide," will feature the 24 tributes of the 74th Hunger Games. It will  give us detail about the reaping or how these tributes were selected to participate in that deadly game. Moreover, the skills, weakness, and the districts of the 24 tributes (including Katniss and Peeta) will also be tackled. The book will also highlight the Tribute Parade, Training Center stations, tributes' weapon choices, and their Capitol experiences.
