Jennifer Lawrence Wins Best Actress Award at Jameson Empire Awards 2013

Fresh from her recent win at the OSCARS, Jennifer Lawrence just can't get enough of accepting lots of acting awards. Well, she deserve it! This time, it's not about The Silver Linings Playbook but as Katniss Everdeen in the today's biggest franchise "The Hunger Games."

Jennifer was not able to be there personally but there's a transcript from her acceptance video.By the way, Sam Claflin was also there as a presentor.

BEST ACTRESS presented by Citroen

Presenting this next one is a man who recently ventured into A Field In England with Ben Wheatley – so he’s a braver man than we are – and survived to take a crack at playing Patrick Troughton in Doctor Who story An Adventure In Space And Time. It’s Reece Shearsmith! “Being an actress myself, I know how much it means to win this. I have a little anecdote here I’d like to share with you – if you could just pass that around [goes down to give a piece of paper to an audience member]“

And the winner is JENNIFER LAWRENCE for The Hunger Games rather than Silver Linings Playbook (or SILVER LININGS (playbook) here in the UK), because Empire voters don’t get freaked out by genre movies. She can’t be with us tonight because she’s still hunger gaming somewhere. That, or she tripped on the way to the red carpet and hasn’t gotten up yet. Either way, may the odds be ever in her favour. And she has sent a message, which Shearsmith reads.
Jennifer Lawrence's acceptance speech:

“Hi Empire awards, I’m really sorry I can’t be there. I’d like to thank the Empire readers for voting for me. I loved playing Catnip – is that right?” asks Shearsmith. “I’ll make sure she gets this award… I won’t really.”

Sam Claflin Has Seen the Trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

In a recent interview during the Jameson Empire Awards 2013 (he was the presentor for the Best Female Newcomer award), Sam gushes about seeing the trailer of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. See the transcript from the interview below:

What did you see?

I have not seen … I’ve seen a trailer … maybe. MAYBE, MAYBE! [Laughs] Maybe I shouldn’t have said that. I’m very very proud of this. It’s one of the things I’m really excited to share with the world! It’s a fantastic feat, I think. Francis Lawrence is truly a wonderful director. So to have his touch on this franchise is a great thing.

What can you say Finnick?

Finnick is a very complex character. From people who have read the books, they’ll know that he has his ups and downs. He’s very much in love with Annie Cresta – this girl who goes crazy from his district. He gets put into the games to protect and preserve Katniss and her reputation. That’s pretty much my role, I’m the good guy.

I hope we get to witness the trailer very soon! Btw, congrats to Jennifer Lawrence for winning the Best Actress award for The Hunger Games!

Thanks thehob.org for the tip!

President Snow's Capitol Couture Portrait - Looking Intimidating as EVER!

Guys, the ruler of Panem who's very obsessed with white roses. This was released Yahoo! Movies.

Katniss' Wedding Dress in Catching Fire is the Dres SheWore on the Portrait Confimed by Trish Summervile

Trish Summerville, the costume designer for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" has confirmed via The Hollywood Reporter that the dress worn by Jennifer Lawrence on her Katniss Capitol Couture is indeed her wedding dress. I guess this will be the one she will wear during her interview with Caesar Flickerman.

On Katniss' flaming mockingjay gown"

"Katniss’ white gown is by a designer named Tex Saverio in Jakarta. He is amazing!  I found his designs quite some time ago and saved his information for a perfectly fitting project, then came Catching Fire – perfect!" she said.

“We did several Skype calls with sketches to work together in designing the wedding dress. I had seen a dress he designed with a similar metal bodice, and I wanted to incorporate it into our wedding-dress design," Summerville adds.

She also pointed out the bodice, a Swarovski-crystal-clad “organza corset under a metal cage." The metal pieces rising up are meant to signify fire and flames, while layers of laser-cut feathers at the waist and shoulder tie in the film's "Mockingjay" concept.

The skirt also has numerous layers of organza and chiffon ruffles giving it grandness but still making it seem airy and fluid for movement. As Summerville explains, "This is very important for the twirling/ spinning  Katniss does onstage, per Caesar Flickerman's request."

On Effie's dress:

Summerville confirms that Effie Trinket's red ruffled poster dress and matching shoes are indeed from the house of Alexander McQueen, as THR had reported.

On Peeta's costume and boots:

she also reveals that Peeta’s suit is by a Korean designer that she is "obsessed with" called Juunj. "He is unbelievably talented," she writes. "And Peeta’s boots are by Rick Owens. “

Effie and Katniss' Dresses in Their Capitol Couture Portraits Are Inspired by Alexander McQueen

Yahoo! Lifestyle UK and Ireland has reported that the dresses worn by Katniss and Effie on their respective Capitol Couture portraits were inspired by the creations of popular fashion houses Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane.

Sarah Burton OBE designed the red dress on the left, which is very similar to the one worn by Elizabeth Banks as Effie on the right. Burton also designed the wedding dress of Kate Middleton.

The one being worn by Jennifer Lawrence for the Capitol Couture portrait below (right) was similar to ones created by the Alexander McQueen fashion house. This is also part of the AW11 collection and was presented at Paris Fashion Week.

On the other hand, the one worn by Katniss during their victory tour (not the portrait) was also inspired by other Brit fashion house, which is Christopher Kane.

The fashion designer for Catching Fire is Trish Summerville (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

Haymitch and Cinna Capitol Couture Portraits for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Yesterday, we have witnessed the portraits of Effie Trinket and Caesar Flickerman from Capitol Couture. Now, it is Haymitch and Cinna's time to shine. See the photos below. These were released via People and IGN. Thanks Lionsgate!

Who's portrait will be next? Will we be able to see Portia and the rest of the stylists? Or perhaps President Snow or the newly appointed head gamemaker Plutarch? I was actually surprised to see Haymitch! You know, I actually expect that only people from the Capitol will be featured like last year.
