The Hunger Games Nominated for a Hugo Award

The Hunger Games was nominated for the Best Dramatic Presentation (Long Form) category in the 2013 Hugo Awards. The award ceremony will be part of the World Science Fiction Convention (WorldCon), to take place on the first of September at LoneStarCon 3 in San Antonio, Texas.The Hunger Games will go head to head against The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Avengers, Loopers, and The Cabin in the Woods.

The Hunger Games was able to get several nominations at the Home Media Awards from Home Media Communications. The nominations include:

  • Best Extras/Bonus Materials

The Hunger Games Nominated for Screenplay Awards at Bram Stokers

"The Hunger Games" was nominated for best screenplay at the Bram Stoker award. Bram Stoker awards was created by Horror Writer’s Association in honor of the Dracula writer Bram Stoker. The Hunger Games is joined with "The Woman in Black" and "Cabin in the Woods" for the nomination. For more information kindly visit their website at http://stokers2013.horror.org/stokers.html. Liam Hemsworth Talks About Catching Fire; The Hunger Games Nominated for Saturn Awards and Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America Awards

I got some good news to you tributes. 

First, Liam Hemsworth was able to talk to Vanity Fair about Catching Fire. The Australian actor was also able to share his experiences of having multiple jobs (which you might not actually imagined that he did) before landing an acting role. And for another good news. The Hunger Games was able to get nominations from the Saturn and Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America's Nebula Awards

The Hunger Games was nominated for its screenplay at the Nebula Award. THG was also nominated for the  "Best Science Fiction Film" and "Best Actress" at the Saturn Awards.

The Hunger Games Nominated at the 2012 Artios Awards by the Casting Society of America

The Hunger Games was able to secure a nomination (‘Big Budget Feature – Drama’) for this year's Artios Award by the Casting Society of America. According to THR:

Awards in 22 categories, including film, television and theater will be handed out at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and the XL Nightclub, Cabaret and Lounge in New York. Honorees for the career achievement, Hoyt Bowers and the New York Apple awards will be announced in coming weeks.

Winners will be announced on Oct. 29, 2012.

Watch Josh Hutcherson about his first surf board below. Find out as he talked about his character and his new house. Plus when he was asked about the new cast in Catching Fire he said that "Jena Malone is fantastic." Does that mean Jena Malone will be officially in "Catching Fire?" He was also excited to work with Philip Seymour Hoffman, who will play head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee in the next movie.

Last May 31, 2012, Golden Trailer hosted its 13th Annual awards for honoring best movies in their previews. The Hunger Games managed to garner five awards including:

The Hunger Games Garnered Six Nominations at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards (Vote Now)

The Hunger Games, apart from getting eight nominations at the upcoming MTV Movie Awards this June 3rd, was also able to secure six nominations at the first wave of the Teen Choice Awards 2012. The nominations include:

  • Teen Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy for The Hunger Games movie (Directed by Gary Ross)
  • Teen Choice Book: The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
  • Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy for Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark (also for his role as Sean in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island)
  • Choice Movie Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy for Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen
  • Choice Single by a Female Artist for Eyes Open by Taylor Swift (the song was included in the Hunger Games soundtrack)
  • Choice Male Hottie for Liam Hemsworth (who plays Gale in the Hunger Games)

The 2012 Teen Choice Awards will be held on the 22nd of June from 8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed on FOX.  Fans ages 13 to 19 can vote once each day per category for their favorite TEEN CHOICE 2012 nominees at www.teenchoiceawards.com. Host(s), performers, presenters and additional nominees will be announced soon.

The Hunger Games Secures 8 Nominations at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards Including Movie of the Year and Best Kiss

Good news Hunger Games fans! Our favorite movie was able to secure eight nominations out of the 12 categories at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. Isn't that amazing? That's how big and viral the Hunger Games is! Anyway, here is a press release from MTV

Who's already excited for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards?
