Could Garrett Hedlund be Our Finnick? Taylor Kitsch Confirms He's not Finnick and Hollywood Life Says It's Unlikely that Armie Hammer Will Get It

There have been so many rumors regarding the Finnick casting and these rumors spread so fast! Just remember, these are just rumors and all of our questions will be answered if Lionsgate will release an official statement about it. Hello Lionsgate people are you listening? Please end up the buzz because the fandom are going nuts! After Finnick, I'm sure this will happen for Johanna, Annie, and other major CF characters just like what happened to Katniss, Peeta, and Gale.

Hollywood Life has something to add with the Finnick casting talks. According to them, Armie Hammer (Mirror Mirror) won't be able to commit to the role. Find out more below:

“It is currently a two horse race between Garrett Hedlund and Taylor Kitsch,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com. And while yesterday reports suggest Armie Hammer was also in the running, as well as a few unknowns, our insider says Garrett and Taylor are the top two choices. “The filmmakers aren’t scared of Taylor’s recent struggles with his movies, and he currently has the edge in gaining the role. They feel he needs the right role and this could be it.” But they still see the appeal of Kristen Stewart‘s On the Road costar, Garrett. “The filmmakers are eager to see ‘On the Road’ and see how it does, because if it’s a hit and Garrett gets some major buzz from it, then they will give him more of the edge.”

Our insider adds that Lionsgate execs aren’t worried about the next Hunger Games movie being successful, but they still prefer to have the bigger star for such an important role.

Okay. L.A. Times have confirmed via email that Taylor Kitsch won't be Finnick in the Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire. So that means Garrett Hedlund has a greater chance of being Finnick? Again, these are all just rumors. Let's be calm and wait for the Lionsgate announcement. Who knows a relatively unknown actor will get the role?

Kristen Stewart Wants Hunger Games Couple Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence to Win the 2012 MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss and See How The Two Handle It

Kristen Stewart, who became famous for portraying Bella from Twilight, has recently talked to MTV UK to promote her alter ego, Snow White. Find out more about why K-Stew loves to see the Hunger Games couple win the Best Kiss award for this year.

"I don’t know. For the last few years it was ‘The Twilight Show’ and it was bizarre and this year’s gonna be fun. It’s gonna be like ‘Oh good, something different! Please God, something different’.

"I would love to see them go up there and I would love to see how someone else dealt with it to be honest. It’s like ‘are you gonna do it?’, ‘are you gonna give it to them’."

She added: "If we didn’t win, I would actually be stoked to see like how it all goes down and how they handle it."

Taylor Kitsch Confirms That He Won't Play Finnick in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

According to E!, the top three contenders for the role of Finnick Odair in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" are Garrett Hedlund, Armie Hammer, and Taylor Kitsch. Well, one of them confirmed that he won't play the most coveted role. Here is what Kitsch replied when LA Times emailed the actor for confirmation:

"Not going to happen," the 31-year-old actor wrote in an email on Wednesday. Kitsch, who is coming off the poor box office performance of the big-budget films "John Carter" and "Battleship," would seem to have fit the bill for the athletic, good-looking character.

As for "The Lone Ranger" star Hammer and "TRON: Legacy" lead Hedlund, the studio behind the franchise, Lionsgate, said it would not confirm, deny or comment on any casting in progress.

And if you could remember, Zap2it has also claimed that there is no shortlist yet for potential Finnick Odair actors. It really makes me crazy because I can't wait to know who the hell will play Finnick!

Zap2It Claims that There Is No Shortlist Yet on Who Shall Play Finnick in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," Reading Might Include the Sugar Cube Scene

Yesterday, E! has claimed that their sources said that there are top three contenders for the role of Finnick in Catching Fire. Now, Zap2it claims that there is not yet short list for the actors who might play the role of Finnick Odair in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." Find out more from their statement below.

Despite reports that Taylor Kitsch, Armie Hammer and Garrett Hedlund are the three men in the running to play "Hunger Games" heartthrob Finnick Odair in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," don't get too excited just yet -- sources close to the production tell Zap2it that casting has just begun for the role, and that the three All-American dudes are by no means the only ones in the running.

E! Online reports that Kitsch, Hammer and Hedlund are the names Lionsgate wants, but Zap2it's source says nobody's in the lead just yet considering talks only began on Tuesday (May 29). Actors are still reading for the role, and the studio is strongly considering bringing in an unknown to avoid ego clashes on set. It's easy to understand the mix-up -- someone probably got their hands on the confidential memo going around that reveals the three men are currently on the shortlist of dudes we'd love to marry in a fantasy dream world. (Honestly, any list with those three guys on it is a win-win-win situation.)

The scenes the actors are reportedly reading for the role include the sugar cube scene where Finnick first meets Katniss and the scene where he hears Annie's scream.

Katniss Everdeen Nominated as Best Hero at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards

MTV has added a new category named "Best Hero" at their 2012 MTV Movie Awards which will be aired on June 3, 2012. Find out more about the news:

Fans of onscreen heroics should get their fingertips ready to tear up Twitter because that's where they'll be voting for their favorite onscreen do-gooder in the new category of Best Hero for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.

Beginning Tuesday (May 29) and right on through to the live show on June 3, fans can vote and track the nominees for Best Hero, presented by Sprint, via Twitter using hashtags associated with the nominees. Is your favorite hero a contender?

Check out the nominees:

»Harry Potter, "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, Part 2 (#votepotter)
»Katniss Everdeen, "The Hunger Games" (#votekatniss)
»Thor, "Thor" (#votethor)
»Captain America, "Captain America" (#votecaptain)
»Jenko, "21 Jump Street" (#votejenko)

The new nods for "Harry Potter," "The Hunger Games" and "21 Jump Street" add to those films' already hefty tallies. And the nomination for Katniss of "The Hunger Games," played by Best Female Performance nominee Jennifer Lawrence, pushes that film ahead of "Bridesmaids" to become the most-nominated film this year with nine nominations. The bump gives "Deathly Hallows, Part 2" seven different chances to walk away with the Golden Popcorn (and remember, the franchise still unbelievably has never scored the coveted Best Movie prize despite several nominations over the years).

"21 Jump Street" now has six chances come next Sunday's show, while the nods for "Thor" and "Captain America" give both of those films their lone nominations for this year's awards. Still, both movies will no doubt be serious contenders for next year's awards given the amazing success and acclaim of "The Avengers," which features the titular heroes in addition to Iron Man, the Black Widow, Hawkeye and the Hulk.

The winner for Best Hero will be presented with the Golden Popcorn statue during the live show on MTV, Sunday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
What are you waiting for? Let's the Games to make #votekatniss trending in the Twitter world!

Catching Fire Casting News or Rumor: Garrett Hedlund, Armie Hammer, and Taylor Kitsch Plus Brad Pitt Look-alike for Finnick

According to E!, Garrett Hedlund, Armie Hammer, and Taylor Kitsch are battling for the role of Finnick Odair in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." Plus, there's also an "ala Brad Pitt" in Thelma & Louise to join the pool of Finnick Odair wannabes. If I'm not mistaken, that "Brad Pitt" look-alike they are talking about is William Levy. He's the male model in Jennifer Lopez's music video for "I'm Into You."

Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch, Garrett Hedlund

William Levy
Garrett and Armie were both fan favorite and recently MTV has published an article about the potential career break of Taylor Kitsch if he can get the role of Finnick in the Hunger Games sequel. Also, Stephanie Meyer, the author of Twilight, wants Kitsch to play Finnick. So, the news can be connected to each other but let's just wait for the official announcement from Lionsgate. The filming will start soon because by January 2013, Jennifer Lawrence is set to film the sequel to X-Men: First Class. E! has also stated that the decision about the casting will be announced within this week.

Robert Pattinson Will not be in Catching Fire - The Actor Speaks!

I know lots of you have already heard about the RPatts-Finnick rumor. Several members of the fandom are against it but some would consider. For me, I am against RPatts playing Finnick. Enough said.

So, at the Cannes Festival, Robert Pattinson was surprised to hear the rumors that flood the internet with his participation in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." Find out more from his interview at the 2012 Cannes Festival promoting his film "Cosmopolis."

Excerpt from Robert Pattinson's interview with USA Today about the rumored Finnick role in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."

"I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games," Pattinson tells USA TODAY. "I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent."

The response?

"My agent was like, 'No,' " Pattinson reports.

"(My agent) was like no one's going to offer you that part," Pattinson says, breaking into a laugh. "I was like, thanks for the reassurance."
There you go. Just keep calm and wait for Finnick to be announced.

The Hunger Games Will be Released at 67 IMAX Theaters in China by June

According to "The Hollywood Reporter," the Hunger Games will be screened to 67 IMAX theaters in China by June. Find out more about the news from THR's article below:

The teen tentpole will be released with both dubbed and sub-titled prints in China under new revenue sharing terms recently agreed as part of a WTO arrangement.

Imax’s local partners for the release include the China Film Group, in conjunction with Huaxia Film Distribution Co.

Also pitching in is Lionsgate's promotional partner in the region, Talent International.

The Hunger Games is already approaching $650 million at the worldwide box office, and Lionsgate anticipates that figure will climb significantly higher after the tent tentpole is released in China.

"The Hunger Games launch in China underscores the franchise's continued emergence as a truly global phenomenon, and we're delighted to extend our successful partnership with Imax around the globe to offer moviegoers in China a unique, world-class experience," Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-chairs Patrick Wachsberger and Rob Friedman said in a statement.

The Hunger Games Sequel Official Named "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" by Lionsgate

There you go guys, the official title for film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' second book from the trilogy is now "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." What do you think of it? Any titles you have in mind? Now, let's read what Cinema Blend has to say to it.

When it came to creating brand recognition, Summit Entertainment really nailed it with the Twilight franchise. When the sequels were being produced they didn't simply call them Eclipse or New Moon, but rather extended the title but putting The Twilight Saga: in front of it. Needless to say, it's been expected that Lionsgate would be doing the same thing with their Hunger Games series. Because many wouldn't recognize the connection between the first movie and the sequel, Catching Fire, the studio has made an alteration to the name of Suzanne Collins' second novel.

Lionsgate has announced that the official title for Catching Fire is now The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The film is expected to begin production this fall, with stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth all returning as Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, and Gale Hawthorne, respectively. Francis Lawrence, who is best known for directing the films Constantine, I Am Legend and Water For Elephants, will be directing the movie, replacing Gary Ross, who both wrote and directed the first film. The studio has given the title a November 22, 2013 release date. As of now it has no direct competition on its opening weekend, however, Thor 2 is scheduled to be released on November 15th.

So what do you think of the new title? Do you wish they had gone for something bigger - like The Hunger Games Legend: Catching Fire - or do you like that they kept it short and simple? Let us know in the comments section below.

I think the title seems great because what's important is they have to retain the trademark which is the Hunger Games. The life of the characters all connect to the Hunger Games. I'm more excited to know what tagline they are going to use. I mean the first movie, Lionsgate has chosen "The World Will Be Watching" as their tagline. Would they choose "Sparks is fire" or "The World will Catch Fire" or maybe "The Rebellion has Began" for the second film? Any thoughts?

Goofs from the Hunger Games Movie - I Bet You Didn't Even Know There Were Mistakes

The following are several film making goofs or mistakes in the final Hunger Games movie. Read on the following and let me know if you have noticed them while watching the Hunger Games in the theater. I know, I know ("with Effie's accent"), I wasn't able to noticed them too. Anyway, the following were taken from IMDB. Enjoy.

District 12 and the Reaping

When Katniss is walking up for the reaping she has a bruise on her neck in next shot it's gone.

When Effie Trinket is shown from behind walking to the bowl to draw the girls tribute, she has a lot of hair on her neck. Then, when she is shown from behind going to meet Katniss tribute, she has just a few strands of hair

During the Reaping, when Katniss yells, "I VOLUNTEER!" her hair is messed up and ruffled, however, when she states "I volunteer as tribute," her hair is combed again.

The Tribute Parade and the Interview

When the 12 chariots are parading to the final stopping spot, the fans are throwing flowers and all kinds of things on the road that they ride in on. When they show the overhead view and the last chariots pull up there is not one item on the roadway.

the road is filled with roses thrown by the Capitol people to the tributes during the parade

the roses were no longer seen, the road is clean

When Katniss is turning around to show her fire dress, you can see her hair (bun) comes apart. But in the next scene her hair is nicely tucked in.

The Tribute Apartment

When Katniss is seeing images on the window of her penthouse room, in the forest image, when her face is focused, there is hair in front of her left eye. But after shifting to the forest image and then shifting back to her face, there is no hair in front of her left eye.

The Training Center

In the training hall, when Peeta is going to throw a weight, Clove, Cato and Marvel are standing together watching. But after he throws the weight, Glimmer, Cato and Marvel are watching.

Clove, Cato and Marvel were watching Peeta fell down the rope (before he threw the medicine ball)

Cato, Marvel and Glimmer were seen after Peeta threw the medicine ball at the spears (where's Clove?)

The Arena

While Katniss is hiding from the tributes in the tree she is shown once in her sleeping bag in one shot, and out of the sleeping bag in another.

Although the missing cannon from District 3 male's death could be explained by temporary deafness, that does not explain why the cannon fire is missing from both Rue and her killer's deaths.

the cannon fire was missing when Rue and Marvel died in the arena

Crew or equipment visible
After Katniss has destroyed the stockpile at Cornucopia, she runs back into the forest and stops to whistle to the mockingjay and signal Rue. In the wide shot you can very clearly see a blue marker for where she needed to stop.

Katniss draws her bow before taking her first shot at the bag of fruit on the stockpile. In the next shot, she draws her bow again.

When Cato has Peeta in a lock on the cornucopia, when Katniss is aiming her arrow at Cato, she has the fletchings on her arrow the wrong way round, she could never shoot straight with her bow loaded like this.

When Katniss draws her bow to deliver the coup de grĂ¢ce to Cato, she initially aims downward as would be expected. But in the next shot, her aim changes to slightly upward. She releases the arrow in a path that would clearly fly far over him.

During the finale, Cato has Peeta in a choke-hold, and blood on his hands. Going back and forth from the duo to Katniss, the blood comes and goes.
