Hunger Games Movie Trailer Music "Deep Shadows" by TTL, Now with Vocals

Do you still remember the music behind the full length trailer of the Hunger Games movie? It was entitled "Deep Shadows" by TTL. Now, it has been included with vocals and the lyrics was composed by Costanza Francavilla. The lyrics and embedded audio can be found below. Note: You can purchase it via Zerokilled Music ($1.29) as well as iTunes ($0.99).

Come lullaby
I can see your eyes
deep inside
shining in the dark
you and I
falling in the stars
burn desire
we will fight the night
and all the lies
riding thru the fire
we'll be free to fly

Never-ending light
in the darkest night

you're the reason why
I don't wanna die

II

Come lullaby
I can see your eyes
deep inside
shining in the dark
you and I
falling in the stars
burn desire
we will fight the night
and all the lies
riding thru the fire
we'll be free to fly

Never-ending light
in the darkest night

you're the reason why
I don't wanna die

Away from the deep shadow we fly
away from the deep shadow we fly
away from the deep shadow we fly
we fly
we fly
riding thru the fire

Listen to Rue's Lullaby (Deep in the Meadows) by Sting

Listen to Rue's lullaby below. The title of the song is Deep in the Meadows by Sting. It's a wonderful song. I just hope Lionsgate will release Jennifer Lawrence and Willow Shields' version of it.

Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes
And when again they open, the sun will rise.
Here it’s safe, here it’s warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.
Deep in the meadow, hidden far away
A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when again it’s morning, they’ll wash away.
Here it’s safe, here it’s warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

Civil Wars Gushes About "Safe and Sound" with Taylor Swift for the Hunger Games Soundtrack

Here is an article featuring Civil Wars' experience working with Taylor Swift for the Hunger Games soundtrack "Safe and Sound."

What it like working with Taylor Swift on your song together for “The Hunger Games”?

White:  How that happened is we were out on the West Coast touring. We had already worked on a song with T-Bone Burnett on an original song for that soundtrack. Taylor had become fan and friend of ours and kept in touch. When they found out we were close by and she and T-Bone were getting ready to write a song for “The Hunger Games” they decided to give us a call and see if we wanted to do it with them, which worked out pretty well. We went to Los Angeles, went over, and a couple hours later the song was finished, and maybe an hour and a half later we had finished tracking guitars and all the vocals and went out and did our show that night.

Civil Wars is composed of Paul White and Joy Williams. (see image above)

Taylor Swift's Safe and Sound Will Premiere on February 13 in MTV

Taylor Swift's official music video to the Hunger Games soundtrack Safe and Sound will be premiered by MTV on the 13th of February 2012. I'm excited to see this video and I hope it will include some clips from Hunger Games (fingers crossed ..please). But I really doubt that. Anyway, read this article from MTV and get a chance to chat with Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift is entering the "Hunger Games" arena next week with her soundtrack video for "Safe & Sound" in tow. The clip, which features the Civil Wars, will have its global premiere Monday, February 13, at 7:54 p.m. ET on MTV during "MTV First: Taylor Swift," followed by an exclusive chat with Swift herself.

After the video's premiere — which will also air live on MTV's channels in Canada, Europe, Latin America, Australia, Asia and Africa — the Grammy-nominated singer will sit down with MTV News' Sway Calloway for a 30-minute interview on MTV.com. Fans of the superstar can get in on the action by submitting questions via Twitter @ with the hashtags #AskTaylor or #MTVFirst.

CMT will debut "Safe & Sound" at 8 p.m. ET, the same time the music video will debut exclusively online at MTV.com, CMT.com, VH1.com and MTV's International sites. On Tuesday morning, VH1's "Big Morning Buzz Live" will feature the video at 10 a.m. ET/PT.

"We're proud to be partnering with Taylor to introduce her new music video to our worldwide audience to every screen known to man or robot, while simultaneously providing multiple layers of editorial content and context," Van Toffler, president of Viacom Music & Logo Group, said in a statement. "This global premiere underscores our mission to connect artists and their fans through a content-first strategy."

Before the premiere, fans will be treated to exclusive content from the video and learn more about the song, which is the lead single from the "Hunger Games" soundtrack. "Safe & Sound" was written by Swift, the Civil Wars and T-Bone Burnett, the film's composer.

The "Hunger Games" soundtrack, which also features Arcade Fire and the Decemberists, drops March 20; the movie hits theaters days later, on March 23.

Hunger Games Soundtrack Release Date and Artwork

Recently, the official Facebook page of the Hunger Games movie has revealed the release date and artwork for the film's soundtrack. The title of the soundtrack is "The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond." The soundtrack will be released on March 20, 2012 and will be distributed by Universal Republic. The artwork or the album cover features Katniss taking her aim. It was actually taken from the third movie poster if you could remember. Here it is:

So far, we have heard of Taylor Swift's Safe and Sound and "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder" by the Secret Sisters. There are also news that Taylor will have another cut for the soundtrack, I wonder what would that be. Other artists (apart from Taylor Swift and Secret Sisters) who will render their voices for the soundtrack include Arcade Fire ("Horn of Plenty"), Decemberists ("One Engine") and Neco Case. The soundtrack will be produced by T-Bone Burnett.

I was kinda disappointed when I see the cover because I've seen this image already. I was hoping for something new maybe include Rue on it since she has a great part in the music stuff or perhaps a view from 12 or something. What do you think of the cover?

Hunger Games Music Soundtrack - Watch Secret Sisters Perform Tomorrow Will be Alright Live

Have you heard about Secret Sisters and their contribution to the official Hunger Games movie soundtrack? If you have read this previous post, then you probably knew it already. Anyway, watch the following video, watch them perform the Hunger Games song "Tomorrow Will Be Alright," and let me know your thoughts on it.

I really think the song is very very lonely, it is much lonelier than Safe and Sound. I love Safe and Sound better than this one. I am really looking forward to something alternative and lively you know like in the fight. Well, aside from that, I am really excited to see Jennifer Lawrence sing Rue's lullaby. The Hunger Games intensity is really getting me, I even dreamt that I am in the Arena with the stars.

Tomorrow Will Be Kinder Lyrics

Black clouds are behind me
I now can see ahead
Often I wonder why I tried
Hoping for an end

Sorrow weighs my shoulders down
And trouble haunts my mind
But I know the present will not last
And tomorrow will be kinder

Tomorrow will be kinder
It’s true, I’ve seen it before
A brighter day is coming my way
Yes, tomorrow will be kinder

Today I’ve cried a many tear
And pain is in my heart
Around me lies a somber scene
I don’t know where to start

But I feel warmth on my skin
The stars have all the light
The wind has blown but now I know
That tomorrow will be kinder

Tomorrow will be kinder
I know I’ve seen it before
A brighter day is coming my way
Yes, tomorrow will be kinder

A brighter day is coming my way
Yes, tomorrow will be kinder

Long live Hypable.

Hunger Games Soundtrack News -- Secret Sisters Will be on the List

Turns out the Secret Sisters aren’t so good at keeping secrets! Lydia and Laura Rogers, better known as the singing duo, revealed that one of their new songs will be featured on the Hunger Games soundtrack.

The song is called “Tomorrow Will Be Kinder,” which they explain fits the movie perfectly because while it comes from a dark place, it is about hope for a brighter tomorrow. A very appropriate theme!

The girls told TimesDaily.com: “We were in Australia when the tornadoes came through Alabama (in April 2011). It was so tough for us to be away from home when all that was going on. There, Lydia sat down and wrote a song stemming from that sadness, “Tomorrow Will Be Kinder.” Even though it came from a really dark circumstance, it is about looking forward to better days. Just recently, we found out that song is going to be on “The Hunger Games” soundtrack. We recorded that song with T Bone in New York.“

In other Hunger Games news, the studio has just launched the new Capitol Couture website (password: #lookyourbest) that promises fashion updates in an email newsletter that users sign up for.

“Whether you’re a Capitol fashionista or a style-crazed District citizen, there’s only one place to turn for all the tips, tricks and trends you need to look your best,” the website says.

Hunger Games Soundtrack Will Be All Original Songs Written Purposely For the Hunger Games Theme

The companion album will feature all newly written and recorded songs, based on themes embodied in The Hunger Games.

Taylor Swift has already rendered her voice and lyric-writing chops for "Safe and Sound" with Civil Wars. You can purchase the song at iTunes or Amazon or click here for the lyrics. She will be joined by Win Butler and Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire for another Hunger Games soundtrack "Horn of Plenty" as well as The Decemberists with "One Engine." The all-star soundtrack to the forthcoming movie The Hunger Games. will be produced by T-Bone Burnett.

Taylor Swift Renders Her Voice at the Hunger Games with Safe and Sound

Taylor Swift is surely in demand these days. She is definitely one of the best stars of our generation. At 22, she already won an Artist of the Year award not to mention her entries at the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records. Now, she become part of the highly anticipated movie of 2012, The Hunger Games -- the world will be surely watching if the odds will be on the franchise's popularity and success in the box office.

The title of the song is Safe and Sound. The country sweetheart is joined by Civil Wars. The song is really emotional and is not really accompanied by lots of instruments. It's more acoustic and the lyrics fits the Rue's death scene.

Here is the lyrics to Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift featuring Civil Wars. You can actually download the song from iTunes and Amazon. The Safe and Sound mp3 costs $1.29 in iTunes and $0.99 in Amazon, so I suggest you to buy from Amazon since it's cheaper. Don't worry, you could still play the song on any mp3 devices like iPod or iPhone.

Taylor Swift featuring Civil Wars Lyrics

I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, I'll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, Don't leave me here alone
But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

Don't you dare look out your window darling

Everything's on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when the music's gone

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

Just close your eyes
You'll be alright
Come morning light,
You and I'll be safe and sound...

Lionsgate Criticized by the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) for Recording the Hunger Games Score in London Instead in US

The American Federation of Musicians declares Tuesday that the studio is "just plain wrong" for recording the film's music in London rather than in the U.S.

AFM international president Ray Hair has posted an admonishing video on YouTube that takes Lionsgate to task for choosing to record the film's score in London rather than in the United States. Hair claims that the move is designed to avoid contractual minimums for wages, pension and health care payments that American musicians would receive.

"The movie takes place in the future, in Appalachia,” said Hair. “But for the Americana, Appalachian-style music the movie needs, Lionsgate is going to Europe, so that the company can escape having to provide health care and pension contributions, fair wages, and royalty payments – benefits that everyone else working on The Hunger Games will most certainly receive.”

Hunger Games, directed by Gary Ross and written by Ross, Billy Ray and the book's author, Suzanne Collins, was filmed in North Carolina and is scheduled to hit theaters March 23.

The AFM covers musicians in the U.S. and Canada.

"The new AFM administration is committed to reaching out and publicizing the advantages of hiring AFM musicians and exposing the immoral, unethical, and unjust practice of looking to professional musicians to fatten the wallets of entertainment industry executives,” said Hair. “Lionsgate can afford to do the right thing for musicians. They do it for everyone else. It’s an American movie, with American actors, and American crews, with a soundtrack that's uniquely American, going to Europe to record the music. It’s just plain wrong.”

James Newton Howard is the New Hunger Games Composer

Here is a news article from MovieWeb.com about Hunger Games new composer.

Composer James Newton Howard is replacing Danny Elfman as the composer of The Hunger Games score. We reported in August that Danny Elfman was teaming up with T-Bone Burnett on the score, although Danny Elfman was forced to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts.

T-Bone Burnett will continue to collaborate on the score with James Newton Howard, and will serve as executive music producer of The Hunger Games. An insider revealed the transition will not affect the post-production work on The Hunger Games.

Danny Elfman is currently working on the score for Men in Black III and Dark Shadows. James Newton Howard is scoring upcoming projects such as Snow White and the Huntsman and The Bourne Legacy.

The Hunger Games comes to theaters March 23rd, 2012 and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Isabelle Fuhrman, Amandla Stenberg. The film is directed by Gary Ross.

I hope Mr. Newton Howard will be able bring an Oscar-winning score for the Hunger Games. Good luck!

Rue's 4 Note Melody in the 74th Hunger Games

Rue is one of my favorite characters in the Hunger Games. She is the girl tribute from District 11, where agriculture is the main source of living. She is described to have brown skin with dark hair, small and is often underestimated by her competitors. Rue saved Katniss' life from the tracker jacker, which are genetically-altered wasps and causes hallucination once stung. They were allies in the Games and Katniss reminded Rue of her sister Primrose, whom she loved the most by volunteering as the tribute instead of her. Rue decided to trust Katniss only because of the pin she wore over her heart, the famous mockingjay pin.

Rue got 7 out of 12 from the score's given by the Game makers before the commencement of the 74th Hunger Games. She can jump from one tree to another without difficulty at all and she is very fast. She spent most of her time in the field to feed her family, she is the oldest. There is this 4-note melody that she sang whenever the day of work in the field is over. She applied that in the Games with Katniss, when the two decided to blew up the food and supplies of the Career tributes, led by Cato. They used the tone to indicate that their objective is done. Katniss was the one to blew up the food and supplies with her arrows while Rue decided to make distractions by producing smokes from piles of wood.

The purpose of this post is to show you (you can listen it here) the 4-note melody of Rue. If you are a good observer, you can actually hear the sound at the end of the Hunger Games trailer. So, here it is. By the way, Amandla Stenberg will play Rue in the upcoming adaptation of the Hunger Games.
