Catching Fire Cast Tweets Confirm Cameras will Start Rolling in Georgia, Atlanta Soon!

Our friends from Mockingjay.net was able to catch that Sam Claflin, who will play Finnick in Catching Fire, is already in Atlanta, Georgia. By the way, for those who don't know, there are news that Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss) and Josh Hutcherson (Peeta) were already there but no one knows if Liam Hemsworth has arrived there or not. Anyway, here is Sam Claflin's tweet. He is not really saying directly that he is in Atlanta but Twitter was able to know where he is. So, there you go.

Maria Howell on Her Role as Seeder in Catching Fire

Maria Howell, who was recently cast as District 11 victor Seeder, talked to NC Hollywood about her participation in Catching Fire.

 “I knew for close to two weeks now,” Howell told us via telephone, “but I was sworn to secrecy and couldn’t say anything about it until they said something, and today was the day.”

    She said it was “difficult like I don’t know what” to keep quiet for so long, but was happy to express her enthusiasm for the role now that the news is out.

    “I’m excited about it,” said Howell, “because it’s a part that I hope is going to spread the spectrum of what I can do. Sometimes you can get into a certain kind of role and people try to pigeonhole you. I never really wanted to be pigeonholed. I’ve always wanted to be more of a character actor in the sense that the world is wide open for all the different things that I can do. Revolution was the start of that.”

My thoughts? Hmm probably Finnick Odair is already cast but Lionsgate didn't announce it yet because they are still busy promoting the Hunger Games DVD. But I really got this feeling that he will be cast soon. I hope before September ends.

Maria Howell Officially Cast as Seeder in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire"

Let's us welcome Maria Howell, our Seeder in Catching Fire. Seeder is a victor/tribute from District 11. She is the district partner of Chaff, who was cast last week in the person of E. Roger Mitchell. Chaff and Seeder will compete in the Third Quarter Quell. 

Santa Monica, CA, August 13^th, 2012- Lionsgate® and the filmmakers of THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE are pleased to announce that Maria Howell has been cast in the role of Seeder in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel Catching Fire. A former victor from District 11, Seeder competes in the 75^th Annual Hunger Games, also known as the Quarter Quell.  

Maria Howell is an Atlanta, Georgia-based actress, singer, and voiceover artist best known as the choir soloist from the movie “The Color Purple.” She has also appeared on television in Army Wives, Drop Dead Diva, The Vampire Diaries, Meet The Browns, and House Of Payne, and in the acclaimed film “The Blind Side.”   

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark.   Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts.  Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75^th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has sold more than 50 million books in print and digital in the U.S. alone.
