The Hunger Games was able to scoop four out of the 10 nominations at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. These include:
- Best Male Performance - Josh Hutcherson
- Best Female Performance - Jennifer Lawrence
- Bet Fight - Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence versus Alexander Ludwig
- Best Onscreen Transformation - Elizabeth Banks
On the flipside, the Hunger Games was not able to get the Best Movie and Best Kiss awards because it has been given to the Twihards for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1." The Best Cast and Best Hero were given to the Harry Potter family. Liam Hemsworth failed to charm the MTV organizers for Shailene Woodley was chosen as the Breakthrough Artist.
Despite the failure of the fandom to get the Best Movie, Best Cast, and Best Kiss, the Hunger Games was the biggest winner in the event. Catching Fire here we come!
